Directions and practical information

From the Kastrup Copenhagen Airport

By train

After exiting the luggage claim area and passing customs, you will come to the main lobby area of the airport. Walk in the direction of the trains to Sweden (to Malmö and Lund) and where the train ticket machines are located. Buy a train ticket with your credit card (debit card also works). You can buy a one way ticket to Lund. It costs 140 SEK (Swedish Crowns). IMPORTANT! DO NOT GET ON THE TRAIN WITHOUT YOUR TRAIN TICKET. BUY THE TICKET PRIOR TO BOARDING THE TRAIN. After buying the train tickets you will see a sliding door to your right side. Go through those doors; get on the escalator down the train platform. Look at the train departures on display and find a train that goes to Lund or/and Malmö. Once on the train a staff person will go around and will ask to see your train ticket. You might have to show your passport when traveling by train from Copenhagen to Sweden. If traveling by taxi or car, you will pass border control going into Sweden and they will ask to see your passports.

The train will continue to Skåne, Sweden (which is across the bridge from Copenhagen). Get off at Lund station which is also the city center (or downtown area). Cross the street from the Lund central station from where you just got off the train and take the number 20 (green) or 166 (yellow) bus and get off at the Lund Ideon Gateway bus stop. You can pay the bus fare with your credit card or debit card. You can also go to Skåne Trafiken offices which are located right next to Lund central station and buy a bus ticket. The Ideon Gateway bus stop is right outside the Elite Hotel.

By bus

Buses to Lund are available from Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö, Copenhagen, Helsingborg and Halmstad. There are also indirect services from Oslo. There are a few main companies to check prices and timetables with: SwebusNettbuss and Svenska Buss (whose website is only available in Swedish).  All of the bus services mentioned above (apart from the airport buses) arrive and depart from stop ‘O’ , just north of the train station’s main entrance on Carl Bernlunds Gata.

Get off at Lund station which is also the city center (or downtown area). Cross the street from the Lund central station from where you just got off the train and take the number 20 (green) or 166 (yellow) bus and get off at the Lund Ideon Gateway bus stop. By car

Get on E20 from Ellehammersvej, follow E20 and E22 to Norra Ringen in Lund, Sverige. Take exit 22-Trafikplats Lund N from E22, continue on Norra Ringen. Drive to Scheelevägen.

About 50 meters from the entrance, there is a parking garage. Current price is 40 SEK per day, you need to pay in advance by the parking meter.

From Malmö Airport - Swedavia
By bus

Airport buses with the word Flygbussarna on the side wait outside the terminal’s main entrance and charge 115 SEK for a one-way trip to Lund. Open returns, which are valid for three months, cost 209 SEK. You’ll get a small discount if you buy your ticket in advance on the Flygbussarna website or through their app.

If you haven’t already got a ticket for the bus by the time you land, don’t worry – you can buy one from machines near the bus stop, or aboard the bus itself. Note that you cannot buy a ticket about the bus using cash. If you only have cash, grab your ticket from Pressbyrån or 7-Eleven (both inside the airport). The airport buses heading for Lund make several stops along the way, including at the university, before reaching Lunds Centralstation, the city’s train station.

Heading from Lund city center to the airport, just wait near the train station’s main entrance on Bangatan. There are departures every 30–60 minutes from roughly 5.15am–7.40pm.

By taxi

Taxis wait outside the terminal but rides between Malmö Airport and Lund aren’t cheap. Expect to pay around 450 SEK for a trip to or from the airport if you book in advance – slightly more if you don’t. Taxi Skåne (+46 463 303 40) and Taxi Kurir (+46 407 0000) both take advance bookings. Make sure you agree the full price before getting in any taxi (or at least ask the driver to give you an idea of the total cost) and don’t be afraid to ask a few different drivers for quotes before setting off.
